Learning Goals for DVI Fellows:
Teachers will have an opportunity to create their own resources to enhance their existing life science curriculum. They will . . .
Use their FOSS curriculum as a springboard for creating individual materials to meet their own classroom needs.
Be introduced to a variety of activities which may be easily adapted to review, enhance and enrich ANY science unit.
Be provided with the materials to create their activities, so that they be used immediately with their students.
Be encouraged to make their resources user-friendly in that they may easily be changed throughout the year to meet their students’ ever-changing strengths and needs.
Be supported by the DVI staff in content, pedagogy and management of their activities.
Summary of Activities:
Teachers will be presented with a variety of “generic” activities which can easily be adapted for any unit of study.
They will have the opportunity to “pick and choose” the activities they feel would be the most appropriate and effective for their students.
They will be provided with the materials to create their activities and time to create them.They will also have the support from the DVI staff with regard to content, pedagogy and management of their activities.
